  • Guo-Fu Zhou received his M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees in Functional Materials from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 1989 and 1991, respectively. In 1994, he received the Ph.D. degree in Materials Physics from the University of Amsterdam and was a visiting scientist at the University of Cambridge UK before he joined Philips Research in 1995.

    He is the Founder & Director of the Electronic Paper Display Institute of South China Normal University in Guangzhou, and part-time professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He has published more than 100 scientific papers and has filed more than 100 patents in the field of optoelectronic micro/nano materials, devices and systems. He is one of the pioneers in the innovation, industrialization and commercialization of electrophoretic displays. As recognition, he is awarded with the Gold Medal ISMANAM-1994 Grenoble and 2006 Gilles Holst Award of Royal Dutch Philips.

Alex Henzen

  • Prof. Alex Henzen has more than 35 years of R&D experience in leading fields of display technology, and is currently professor at South China Normal University in Guangzhou, China.
    Prior to this position he was active as VP for Clearink Displays, responsible for display architecture and manufacturing preparation.
    Earlier activities were co-founder and vice president of iRex Technologies, later IRX Innovations, since 2005 with responsibility for process development and innovation. He was responsible for design and production of iRex' e-paper displays as well as running multiple innovation projects, internal as well as with partners and suppliers. With iRex he successfully developed 3 e-reader platforms, as well as display controller hardware and architectures. Prior to founding iRex Technologies, Henzen held process and program management positions at Philips Mobile Display Systems.

    Henzen achieved his MSc in Chemistry from Leiden University, The Netherlands, in 1985 and currently lectures electrophoretic display driving principles at South China Normal University, Guangzhou. He has been a long term member of IEC TC110 standardization committee, and received the IEC 1906 award in 2004. He also received the SID special recognition award in 2007, and the SPIE green photonics award in 2011.

Stan Polozov

  • Stanislav (Stan) Polozov received his MSc. in computational molecular biology in 1991 and accepted a positiond in the Cancer Institute at Hannover Medical School (MHH). In 1994 he registered his first patent application - the electrochemical CMY subtractive display with the direct color generation.

    Later, he was a co-founder and developer in several scientific high-tech projects and startups, like the software project "TheBat!" - the powerful email client, HighCross - the line of products for smart home automation, and several others. Also Stanislav was engaged in the provision of consulting services for several international high-tech companies.

    In 2020 Stanislav has joined Liquid Light to boost the dissemination of electrofluidic display technology on the world market.
